TAMPA FILM FESTIVAL EVENTS

The Tampa Film Showcase, upon its debut, will combine a professionally organized monthly Tampa indie film festival and a talent networking event. Recent efforts by indie film hobbyists have demonstrated a demand for a regular outlet for indie filmmakers who wish to show their work and people who love movies. Likewise, the efforts of amateur indie film and talent networking organizations have have only served to illustrate a need for professional networking, but the lack of professional organization and involvement have made these "meetings" fall short. We no longer need discriminatory cliques in the Tampa Bay Indie Film Community or a biased, unprofessional clique masquerading as a "professional" film community. We need real professionals with a sincere motivation to really network and help each other. These professionals are on their way, and will begin to build a professional independent film community in the Tampa Bay region starting in 2011. The Tampa Film Showcase and professional indie film web sites such as Tampa Bay Film will help lead the charge to the change that we all need.

The Tampa Film Showcase, as we will all find out, is a monthly event series designed to make present monthly film festivals obsolete, as well as show the large, annual film festivals how it is done. The Tampa Film Showcase indie film festival series will force bloated, overdone annual film festivals to re-evaluate what they are doing. It may even force their sponsors and supporters to question what they are getting in return for their investment.

Not to be outdone, there will also be an annual, large film festival directly affiliated with the Tampa Film Showcase. This annual film festival could debut as soon as early 2009, and it will be directly connected with the Tampa Film Showcase and the Tampa Bay Film web site. The annual film festival will be able to put the pretentious, overblown annual film festivals currently in the Tampa Bay market in their proper place. At the very least, it will get the attention of the others and force them to react and make positive changes if the wish to remain in this market. Change is coming.

We have heard the complaints from real professionals who have always wanted to get involved, but are put-off by the cliques, the amateurish efforts, and the biased politics. We are going to do something about it. There will be a professional indie film community in the near future, and not a clique of aspiring filmmakers who try to undermine real professionals who try to help them. We need a genuine professional community, and not a film hobbyist clique masquerading as one. We are going to get a professional Tampa Bay indie film community.

This monthly film festival and professional networking event is a joint production of leading Tampa indie film web site Tampa Bay Film and Tampa Bay event planning company Eventi Events.
